Echeveria.

Growing Echeveria is not really that hard. If you follow a few basic principals and rules. They are not a very demanding plant.

The majority are really a tropical plants that grow at some altitude. So drainage is essential for their potting mix. Good ventilation is important. Being tropical if you forget to water them for 6 months they won't die on you. Basically they are very tolerant of neglect.

Watering these plants based on the seasons. Spring they start to grow. Increase the water through too summer. Best way is to measure the weight of a wet pot. now feel a very dry pot When they are light water well and deep. Autumn and Winter lay right off the water once a month or 6 weeks apart.

Echeveria dislike water-logging, their most common cause of death They can take the cold better if they are dry. They really dislike frosts some can take to minus one or two if no dew.

One rule off thumb to follow is " Less is More." If you're not sure about watering, Skip it. Over Winter and Summer keep it bright. But avoid that hot burning western sun which can fry them.
