This species has been in Australia for some time yet is not widely known or available here. Noted for its large almost round thick leaves the Australian version is well marked with many dark spots and a darker margin on the otherwise green leaf.  With some time Adromischus will develop some branches but to me seems semi prostrate growing to about 10 to 15 cm high or wide It is a slow grower only producing a few new leaves per year. This is most likely why its not often seen for sale. I need 20 mother plants to produce a modest crop of them.  Flowers 20 to 35 cm tall spikes with 3 to 5 flowers pink with mauve margins. Found growing in West cape of SA from Worcester to North of George in the mountains  to quiet high altitudes over to the Little Karoo, usually on rocky outcrops with little soil

Again a very variable species can be confused with Adromischus tigrynus but closely related to Adromischus spenophyllus. Though these two usually have longer and thinner  leaves than Adroromischus maculatus.

Plants for sale displayed in 75mm pots

Adromischus Growing Tips

*Although all care is taken when packing and handling each plant, these plants can be delicate and some leaves may become detached during transit. These plants are easy to grow though and any dislodged leaves can be easily re-propagated into new plants.

Plants are posted without pots or potting mix and may vary to those displayed due to seasonal changes. Please see our 'Order Information' and 'Shipping Policy' below for more details.
