Genus:  Aeonium

Species: Thought to be a hybrid of Aeonium cuneatum  

Common name: “Emerald carpet”

Origin:  Melbourne - Australia. Roraima nursery.

 

Description: This aeonium is a unique form of Cuneatum not known whether it’s a crossed hybrid or just a mutation of aeonium Cuneatum. Grown on mass this plant offsets to form a green carpet of aeonium rosettes about 20cm across.

Flower: Flower is a large yellow raceme of stellate flowers.

Height and spread:  each plant is 40 x 40 cm offsetting close to the ground.

Position: Full sun/ part shade

Soil and water: Water infrequently during winter and spring plant in a well-drained soil with a composted loam. It may go dormant in summer and do not need water in normal conditions.

Care: Remove dead material and flower heads when they are finished at the base of stem.

Propagation: Stem cutting, leaf, seed is viable but easier to propagate from cuttings.

Uses: This plant is one of the best tall succulent ground covers and suited to dapple shade under deciduous trees. Cab be used as a specimen plant in succulent’s garden or used as a compact plant in a pot.
