A mutation that occurred at G Kohres nursery, Echeveria agavoides 'Romeo' is a striking red form of Echeveria agavoides Corderoyi.
Subsequent flowering and pollination's result in seeds with about 30% red, 35% pink and the rest green. The seeds are highly variable with hundreds of colour combinations.
Once popular in Korea dozens of different names have been given to the green and pink, wide leaf and pointy leaf forms such as Taurus or pink Ebony to increase sales etc.
This plant though lovely can die very suddenly in humid and non ventilated areas and is best kept dry to near death conditions where it gets black tips on its leaves. (This is where it gets its other names red or pink Ebony). This plant should be bottom watered i/e: don't get the leaves wet.
A lovely but difficult and demanding plant to keep it going. Ideal for the more experienced grower.
This plant suits a a 150 mm to 200 mm pot.
